Pastor Natalie Mitchem: Responding to God’s Calling by Promoting Healthy Eating

Rev. Natalie Mitchem is not only working to nurture her congregants’ spirituality, but also their physical health.  Her position as director of First Episcopal District Health Commission of the AME Church allows her to bring together two of her passions: her training as a registered dietitian and her spiritual ministry.

 

As a certified nutritionist, Mitchem is frequently asked to speak to various congregations or in community setting, and encouraging people adopt a healthy diet is often at the heart of her message.

Health and Wellness Fair at Bright Hope Baptist Church this Saturday
June 16, 2012
10:00AM – 1:00PM 

This Saturday, June 16th, the Bright Hope Baptist Church will be hosting a community event, “A Village Report: HIV/AIDS Update in the African American and Other Ethnic Communities,” that will feature discussion on pressing issues such as education, contraception, prevention, stigma, and more, as well as HIV testing on-site.
