Pastor Natalie Mitchem: Responding to God’s Calling by Promoting Healthy Eating
By Ayana Jones

Rev. Natalie Mitchem is not only working to nurture her congregants’ spirituality, but also their physical health.  Her position as director of First Episcopal District Health Commission of the AME Church allows her to bring together two of her passions: her training as a registered dietitian and her spiritual ministry.

As a certified nutritionist, Mitchem is frequently asked to speak to various congregations or in community setting, and encouraging people adopt a healthy diet is often at the heart of her message.
